This year, NikeLab have collaborated with Roundel on the Air Zoom Spiridon honouring, the hundredth anniversary of the iconic Johnston font typeface of Transport for London.

Back in 2013, Nike collaborated with Roundel on a pair of Air Max 1 and Air Max 90 models in celebration of London’s Underground transit system 150th anniversary of. Inspired by the 1978 District Line transport vehicle seat upholstery found in railway cars, the crep featues the rectangular woven Jacquard pattern design created by Sir Misha Black.

The NikeLab x Roundel Air Zoom Spiridon, features a sample of the Johnston typeface font printed in alphabet letters and numbers around the crep, covered with a layer of transparent monofilament mesh. Including an iridescent synthetic leather Nike Swoosh and a fully reflective bottom half which extends to the silhouette’s signature 3M taping around the crep adding to its reflectivity.
